Most Famous Serial Killers

When you are living in a cruel world, you are not totally free with some people who are not afraid to kill anyone. Through the years, the number of killers and are continuously increases. These killers are not just any other people who are not experts of what they are doing. Some call them as serial killers because they have killed three or more people over the period of more than a month. Killing is actually their occupation. You can hire them anytime you want, only if you have the right money. Their identity is not to be revealed because it is too confidential. But there are actually some serial killers who became famous during their time and until now their names still exist. If you are not yet familiar with these most famous serial killers, here are the top 10 of them.

10. Andrei Chikatilo

You must be scared by this person because he was once a Soviet serial killer, sex offender, child molester and pedophile He was also known as “Butcher of Rostov,” “The Red Ripper” or “The Rostov Ripper.” He was really a tough and dangerous person. In fact, he was convicted of the murders of 52 women and children between 1978 and 1990 in Rostov Oblast, Russian SFSR. These are just some of his victims because his other victims were from other regions of Russia and in Ukrainian and Uzbek SSRs, thus this made him one of the most famous serial killers.






9. Juan Corona

Juan Corona is a Mexican-born serial killer. He was very expert in killing other people. He was convicted of the 1971 murders of 25 itinerant laborers. These men were found buried in shallow graves in the orchards of fruit ranches in Sutter County, California, along the Feather River north off Yuba City. This was actually one of the gruesome crimes represented the worst and most notorious serial murders in U.S. history. This is really the reason why he was one of the most famous serial killers.












8. Nannie Doss

Who can imagine that this female lady will be included in the most famous serial killer? Nannie Doss was actually the responsible for the deaths of eleven people between 1920s and 1954. She confessed to the murders in October 1954, when her fifth husband has died. It was revealed that she had killed four husbands, two children, her two sisters, her mother, a grandson and a nephew. She is also famous with tis names, “The Giggling Nanny,” “The Giggling Granny,” and “The Jolly Black Widow.”








7. Mary Ann Cotton

She was an English woman convicted of murdering her children and believed to have murdered up to 21 people through arsenic poisoning. She was actually one of the most famous killers of all time. She was arrested when the doctor attended one of her victims had kept samples, and they tested positive for arsenic. She was then charged for his murder.

















6. David Berkowitz

When you hear the names, “Son of Sam” and “The .44 Caliber Killer,” this is no other than David Berkowitz. He is an American serial killer and arsonist whose crimes terrorized New York City from July 1976 until his arrest in August 1977. He confessed that he had killed six people and wounding seven other in the course of eight shootings in New York between 1976 and 1977. He is actually one of the most famous serial killers because these are just few of the crimes that he committed.

5. Ted Bundy

Theodore Robert “Ted” Bundy was an American serial killer who was active between 1973 and 1978. There are certain reasons that made him to the most famous serial killers. He actually confessed that he made more than 30 murders. He likes to see his victims suffering and struggling to death while he hit them. He was also a rapist and necrophilia. He was executed for his last murder by the state of Florida in 1989.






4. The Zodiac Killer

This Zodiac Killer remains his identity unknown. He was a serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s. This serial killer murdered victims in Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages 16 and 29 were targeted. The Zodiac Killer sent his name in series of taunting letters to the press.









3. Ed Gein

Edward Theodore “Ed” Gein was an American murderer and grave robber. He committed crimes around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, which made him as one of the most famous serial killer. He had exhumed corpse from local graveyards and fashioned trophies and keepsakes from their bones and skin. He also confessed that he had killed two women. He spends all the rest of his life in the mental hospital because he was found unfit to stand the trial.















2. Charles Manson

Charles Milles Manson is an American criminal who led the Manson Family, a quasi-commune that arose in California in the late 1960s. He was known for his murders and thus found guilty to the Tate/La Bianca murders, carried out by the members of the group at his instruction. He is actually known as “Helter Skelter.” In fact, this one of the famous serial killer is currently an inmate at Corcoran Prison.











1. Jack the Ripper
Jack the Ripper is a name given to an unidentified serial killer. He was actually very active in the largely impoverished districts in and around Whitechapel, London in 1888. Jack the Ripper is also known as “The Whitechapel Murdered” and “Leather Apron.” Attacks that were ascribed to the Ripper typically involve removal of internal organs and women prostitutes whose throats were cut prior to abdominal mutilations.
