A Voorhees man has pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography online from a large collection of photos and videos found in his laptop — including images of children being raped.
The man also allegedly posted more than 1,000 photographs he took of two young girls on a foreign website and asked users to Photoshop the girls into images of child pornography, authorities said.
Six other men have been arrested as a result of this investigation.
Daniel Allen Jr., 23, pleaded guilty Monday in Superior Court in Camden to solicitation of the manufacture of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and endangering the welfare of a child, said authorities.
Under a plea agreement, the state will recommend Allen be sentenced to seven years in state prison. He will have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be subject to parole supervision for life. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 13.
Since Allen was arrested last year, the state Division of Criminal Justice and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations have continued a joint investigation into users of the foreign website who have communicated with Allen.
As a result, officials have referred more than 60 investigative leads to law enforcement in this country and more than 40 leads in foreign countries.
In the U.S., the investigation led to the arrests of six more men — one in New Jersey and five in other states — who allegedly traded child pornography with Allen and, in one case, manufactured child porn using the photos Allen took.
Allen was arrested at his home on Shingle Oak Drive on Aug. 11, 2012. His computer allegedly contained approximately 15,000 still photos and about 200 videos, all of child porn, authorities said. Some of the pictures and videos depicted prepubescent children being tortured and raped.
After Allen’s arrest, his email account continued to receive emails with child porn and discussions of a desire to molest children, said authorities. These emails generated leads that led to the arrest of Todd Gregory Nichols, 43, of Williamstown; James Goelz, 76, of Wheatland, Wy.; Gary Mitchell Luxenberg, 69, of Garland, Texas; Christopher James Vesper, 33, of Bracey, Va.; John Scarano, 42, of Royerstown, Pa.; and Tyler Andrew Smith, 23, of Ponce Inlet, Fla.
Nichols, of Williamstown, was arrested in January. He allegedly sent child porn images to Allen’s email account. He allegedly told Allen that he photographs young girls in his neighborhood, authorities said. He faces charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
