Local women at Lakhanpur in Jhapa district disrupted transportation along the Damak-Gauradaha road protesting the alleged harassment to women on public vehicles. The protesters claimed that the transportation workers misbehaved and sexually harassed women on buses and taxis plying along the road. Transportation was obstructed for four hours due to the protest, police said. The demonstration was called off as the agitators, police and transportation entrepreneurs agreed to hold talks on Sunday over the matter.
