With quite a few big names in Hollywood, compiling a list of the highest paid actors of 2013 is going to bring out some of the top names out there. Whether it is the leading role in the Summer’s biggest film, or a new film that is set to come out later on this year, these top actors are not only well known for roles they have played in the past, but also for the big name films they are going to star in, in the future.
1. Robert Downey Jr. -
Iron Man is the highest paid actor in 2013; not only is he the lead role in the film series that has produced 3 parts, but with the Avengers, he rounded out the list of superheroes that fans want to watch on the big screen. From June 2012 to 2013 alone, it was reported that the actor was worth $75 million, for leading roles which he has taken on in film, over the past year.
2. Channing Tatum -
Another big name, and actor with the highest earnings for the 2013 year is Channing Tatum. Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, and the well known dancer from Step Up has made quite a mark with big roles, and leading roles. With a reported $60 million in earnings for the past year, he is one of the highest paid actors for the roles he has taken on over the past year.
3. Hugh Jackman -
Most well known for his role as Wolverine, he stepped outside of his comfort zone in Les Mis, and has made a reported $55 million over the 2013 year. With the release of his own feature in the X Men series, The Wolverine, set to come out later this year, it is likely that he is also going to be one of the top paid actors for the 2014 year as well.
4. Mark Whalberg -
Well known as Marky Mark, and the shirtless singer/ actor, Whalberg has earned $52 million in the year of 2013. With his lead role in the film Ted, and co star Mila Kunis, it is no wonder the cartoon based film did so well this past summer. And, with the soon to come Transformers 4 film, it is likely that he is going to remain on top for the following months and through the following year.
5. Dwayne Johnson -
Joining the Fast and Furious family for 5 and 6, and for the 7th film that is set to come out next year, he is going to keep making quality films for years to come. He also starred in Pain & Gain, and the Journey 2 film, Johnson has earned an estimated $42 million for the work he has done over the past year.
6. Leo DiCaprio -
Not only one of the most well known actors in the US and worldwide, but one of the best looking actors as well, DiCaprio has earned an estimated $39 million in 2013. With the lead role in the Great Gatsby, the film earned $50 million over the opening weekend alone, and was not only one of the highest grossing films, but possibly the most anticipated film over 2013.
7. Adam Sandler -
Most known for his comedy work, Sandler has earned a reported $37 million in 2013. With his lead role in the Sequel to the ever popular Grown Ups, and his role in Hotel Transylvania, he is one of the funniest men on the big screen, and continually lands big jobs as a lead actor.
8. Tom Cruise -
Known for the action packed films that the actor tends to take on, he has earned nearly $35 million for the 2013 year alone. He is one of the leading men in Hollywood, and one of the most highly sought after actors for the action films that he takes on. Working along side Morgan Freeman, playing Jack Reacher, and taking on the most difficult stunts on his own, Cruise still seems to have a few years left of creating great content.
9. Denzel Washington -
It is estimated that he has earned nearly $33 million in 2013. Although he has not starred in many films this year, the time he has been in the business means he is one of the highest paid actors, and with films like Flight, grossing in $162 million worldwide, it is likely that he will continue to demand the higher pay checks for the roles he plays.
